Terms and Conditions

The Promoter of this insurance competition is Protecta Insurance New Zealand Limited (NZ Company No 312700) (Protecta) as agent for Virginia Surety Company Inc, New Zealand branch (a US incorporated company with NZ Company No 920655) (VSC). The insurance is underwritten by VSC. Protecta and VSC are part of the Assurant, Inc. group (Assurant).
The Promoter’s registered office is: Level 7, 110 Symonds Street, Auckland, 1010.

The promotion opens at 00:00 on 01 October 2026 NZ time and closes at 23:59 on 30 October 2026 NZ time ("Promotion Period"). Entries received outside this window will not be eligible.

Entry is open only to New Zealand residents aged 18 years or older.
Directors, management, employees, and immediate family members of the Promoter are excluded from entering.
Policy Requirement: To qualify, the entrant must purchase a new, qualifying Assurant insurance policy during the Promotion Period. A qualifying policy includes a Full Cover car insurance policy; a Full Cover motorcycle insurance policy; or a Full Cover classic vehicle insurance policy.
For the purposes of this promotion, a qualifying policy is a new Assurant policy issued for a vehicle that is not already covered by an active Assurant car, motorcycle, or classic vehicle insurance policy during the Promotion Period.
The qualifying policy must be active, with the first premium amount paid if paid monthly, fortnightly or weekly or the total annual premium paid if paid annually and must not be cancelled or refunded before the draw date.
The qualifying policy must remain active and in force at the draw date and until the prize is awarded. Policies cancelled, avoided, refunded or subject to chargeback before the prize is awarded are not eligible.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and entrants and may require evidence of identity, residency, policy ownership, premium payment, or any other information reasonably required to confirm eligibility before awarding a prize.

The qualifying policy must be purchased via www.assurant.nz or www.quashed.co.nz during the Promotion Period.
Automatic Entry: Eligible individuals will automatically receive one (1) entry into the draw upon successfully purchasing a qualifying policy during the Promotion Period.
Limit of one (1) entry per unique policy number, as per the policy number stated on the insurance documentation e.g. APMV654321.
If you wish to opt-out of the competition, please email nz.contact@assurant.com or phone the Assurant Customer Services team on 0800 776 832 (available 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays) providing details of your first name, last name, policy number, and vehicle registration and state you wish to be removed from entering the ‘Win your annual premium’ prize draw.
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, provides false, misleading or incomplete information, or breaches these Terms and Conditions.

The prize consists of five (5) winners, each receiving a refund equal to the total annual premium payable for their qualifying policy, including applicable taxes and levies, credited to the original payment method used to purchase the policy. The winning policies will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries.
Receipt of a prize does not affect the validity, enforceability or operation of the winning insurance policy, and all policy terms, conditions and obligations continue to apply.
The prize is not transferable, exchangeable, refundable for cash, or redeemable for any other product, service or benefit.
The total prize pool will vary depending on the annual premium amount paid by the winners. The maximum total prize pool value is NZD $10,000.

The winners will be selected using a computer-generated random draw from all eligible entries on 03 December 2026 at Level 7, 110 Symonds Street, Auckland, 1010.
The winners will be notified using the contact details associated with their qualifying insurance policy within two (2) business days of the draw.
If a winner cannot be contacted using the contact details held on the qualifying policy, the Promoter may deem the prize unclaimed and proceed with the unclaimed prize draw under clause 7.
The winners agree that the Promoter may publish their first name and region for the purpose of announcing the results of the promotion.
The Promoter’s decisions regarding all aspects of the promotion, including eligibility and prize allocation, are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

If a winner cannot be contacted or fails to respond to the notification and validate their eligibility within 14 days of notification, the prize will be forfeited.
A re-draw will take place on 13 January 2027 at the same time and place as the original draw to award the unclaimed prize.
The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the promotion where necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, subject to applicable law.

Personal information collected during this promotion will be used to administer the promotion, contact entrants, verify eligibility and otherwise in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy available at https://www.assurant.nz/privacy-policy.
Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter, VSC and their related corporate bodies, officers, employees and agents are not responsible for any loss, damage, cost, expense or personal injury suffered or incurred as a result of participating in the promotion or accepting a prize.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand and any disputes relating to this promotion will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
